What is a machined industrial part?

A machined industrial part is a mechanical component made by material removal (turning, milling, drilling or EDM) from a drawing, a STEP file or a sample. It performs a specific function in a machine, an automated system, a tool or production equipment.

In an industrial environment, these parts are critical: a drive shaft, a mounting flange or an inspection gauge must hold tight tolerances, last over time and fit without rework. A manufacturing delay or a non-conforming part can bring an entire line to a standstill.

That is why Lusinage combines CNC machining, workshop expertise and an online quoting platform: you get a fast response, reliable manufacturing and a technical contact who understands your industrial constraints.

Machinable materials

Compatible materials for your industrial parts

We machine the materials most in demand in the mechanical industry. The choice of material depends on mechanical stress, environment and budget.

Aluminium

Lightweight and easy to machine. Ideal for housings, plates, brackets and structural parts. Alloys 5083, 6082, 7075.

Steel

Mechanical strength for pins, shafts, flanges and transmission parts. C45, 42CrMo4, tool steels.

Stainless steel

Controlled corrosion resistance for food, pharma and damp environments. 304L, 316L, 17-4 PH.

Brass & bronze

Excellent machinability for fittings, bushes, spacers and low-friction parts.

Copper

Conductivity for electrical components, heat sinks and contact parts.

Engineering plastics

POM, PA, PEI, PEEK for guides, slides, insulators and lightweight parts.

Manufacturing processes

Manufacturing capabilities for machined parts

We combine the processes best suited to your geometry, material and volume, from a one-off prototype to a small industrial run.

CNC machining

Digital manufacturing of complex parts with repeatability. The main process for production runs and precision.

CNC turning

Round parts: pins, shafts, spindles, bushes, pulleys and cylindrical spacers.

CNC milling

Prismatic parts: plates, housings, flanges, guides and multi-face geometries.

EDM

Complex shapes, hard materials and cavities that are hard to reach with conventional milling.

3D printing

Rapid prototyping, free-form geometries and functional validation before moving to production machining.

Frequently asked questions

Manufacture of industrial parts: your questions, our answers

What file formats do you accept for a machining quote?

STEP (.step, .stp), IGES, STL, DWG, DXF and PDF drawings. STEP is ideal for CNC machining. If you only have a sample or a worn part, we model the part in 3D before manufacturing.

What materials do you machine for industry?

Steels (C45, 42CrMo4), stainless steel (304L, 316L), aluminium (5083, 6082), brass, bronze, copper, titanium and engineering plastics (POM, PA, PEI, PEEK). We advise you on the right material for your application.

What is the minimum quantity for an industrial run?

There is no minimum. We manufacture single units for a prototype or a spare part, or batches of several hundred parts.

What lead times apply to machined industrial parts?

Simple parts: a few working days. Complex prototypes or small runs: 1 to 3 weeks depending on workshop load. The estimated lead time is stated on each tailored quote.

Can you reproduce a part without the original drawing?

Yes. From a sample, we measure the dimensions, model the part and manufacture it. An ideal solution for obsolete spare parts that the original manufacturer no longer supplies.

How much does it cost to machine a custom mechanical part?

The price depends on the material, complexity, tolerances, finish and quantity. Upload your file on our quote page: you receive a tailored estimate with no obligation.

Do you make custom steel and stainless steel parts?

Yes. Custom steel machining and stainless steel machining are among our most frequent requests for the mechanical industry, maintenance and food processing.

What is the difference between CNC machining and 3D printing for industry?

CNC machining suits precision parts, metallic materials and production runs. 3D printing speeds up prototyping and complex geometries. We steer you towards the most relevant process.

Do you offer an online machining quote?

Yes. Upload a STEP, STL or PDF file, view your part in 3D and configure material and quantity. Every request is reviewed by a qualified operator.

Do you machine parts for industrial maintenance (MRO)?

Yes. Reproduction of worn, damaged or discontinued parts to limit production downtime. Priority lead time possible depending on urgency.

What tolerances can you guarantee on a machined part?

Depending on geometry and material, we machine to tight tolerances with dimensional inspection. State your requirements on the drawing or in the quote request.

Do you deliver worldwide?

Yes. Lusinage ships your machined parts worldwide according to your logistics needs.

Can I get a prototype before launching a production run?

Yes. Rapid prototyping is part of our offer: validate the part in real conditions before industrialising a small or medium run.

Do you make parts for special-purpose machines and robotics?

Yes. Brackets, plates, guides, adapters and structural components for automated systems, robots and custom production lines.

How do I choose between CNC turning and CNC milling for my part?

Cylindrical or round part → turning. Flat part, housing or multi-face part → milling. If in doubt, send us your file: we will recommend the best process.

Do you have a drawing, a STEP file, an STL or a part to reproduce?
